It’s amazing how quickly time seems to be passing at the moment.
A few weeks ago Jill and Mark came to my studio at Arley Hall for a pre-wedding shoot in the gardens of the hall. And the weeks since then have flown by and I’m shooting their wedding on Thursday at Peckforton Castle, so there’s just time to show you a couple of the photos.
The weather wasn’t brilliant, but we chanced the light and got out into the grounds to get some relaxed engagement portraits. The gardens are pretty much closed to the public by this time of the year, but I “live” there (professionally speaking!) so I get to take my clients to all the great parts of the grounds where you can shoot portraits, whatever the weather. And if you know what you’re doing (which you should do, if you’re a full-time, professional photographer) shooting in fading light isn’t so much a problem as an interesting challenge. (And actually enjoying shooting in low light is probably what separates us full-time professional wedding and lifestyle photographers from the part-timers with good cameras and less technical knowledge and experience.)
This is in a garden house.
Peckforton Castle is just as atmospheric as Arley Hall, perhaps even more so: roll on Thursday!
