I’ve written about pre-wedding shoots before, about what good they do in getting to know a couple before their wedding, about helping them to discover what it feels like to be professionally photographed before their big day, about how it helps to build a rapport that is of great benefit on the wedding day.
Victoria and David visited my studio in the grounds of Arley Hall a few weeks ago for their pre-wedding shoot. It was a bright, sunny day – the light was harsh, but meant that the images we made that afternoon looked sensational in black and white. It didn’t take them long to start to feel at home in front of the camera and, as we chatted about their forthcoming wedding, they really got into the whole experience. I think you can see in the selection of shots just how relaxed they were.

Their wedding at the stunning Thornton Manor will be blogged soon, including some more fabulous portraits.
